生化机理
Bis(monoacylglycerol)phosphate (BMP) plays a key role in cargo sorting and protein and lipid trafficking. The levels of BMP is elevated in lysosomal storage disorders (LSD) including Wolman disease, Niemann Pick disease and neuronal ceroid lipofuscinoses. It is resistant to degradation by the enzyme, acid phospholipase.
Bis(monoacylglycerol) phosphate (BMP) is a phospholipid, containing two-phosphate linked fatty acid esterified glycerol molecule. It is present in late endosome, mainly in intraluminal vesicles (ILVs). BMP accounts to 15% of total organelle lipids.14:0 BMP (S,R) is suitable to use as the internal standard for lipid extractions and mass spectrometric quantification from Detergent-resistant membrane (DRM) and detergent-soluble membrane (DSM) fractions.
